Truth be told, I’m a bit of a health food nut, which means buying sugar filled lollies is a total NO NO.

Finding healthy alternatives to junk-food can sometimes be a challenge, but these gummy treats have been a HUGE hit with my son and husband.  And best of all they are good for our gut health with gelatin – a tummy soother.

Kombucha is a popular choice in our home too so I was stocked to find these worked with some of my home brewed Kombucha increasing their gut health properties. These yummy treats are a great way to use up a frozen fruit you have available or just use frozen fruit bought directly from your supermarket.

 

Berry Buchi Gummies

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup home brewed kombucha (you can also try Apple cider vinegar ACV or fruit juice)
• 110g frozen raspberries, mango chunks or pineapple
• 1/4 cup grass-fed gelatin (I use Great Lakes gelatin)
• 1/4 cup raw local honey
• (optional) 1-2 drops doTERRA Lime/ Wild Orange essential oil

Directions

  • Place kombucha / ACV and frozen fruit in a blender and blend on high until completely mixed.
  • Pour into a saucepan. Add the honey and gelatin and whisk together this will make a thick paste.
  • Warm on low heat and continue to whisk for 3-5 minutes, until it becomes thin and everything is incorporated. Take off the heat. (I do mine in the Thermomix on Reverse, speed 2 at 50 degrees for about 7 minutes)
  • Add additional flavours (a few drops of doTERRA oil for some Lime and Raspberry gummies, or Wild orange is nice with the Mango) and stir.
  • Pour into silicone molds (chocolate moulds or ice cube trays). Set in the refrigerator for 30-45 mins until totally firm. Pop them out into a storage contained and keep refrigerated.
  • ENJOY!!
