As a parent, having tools and strategies to support and enhance my mood and that of my family is really important .. it helps keep us all emotionally balanced and at our best.

I love to use doTERRA essential oils at home, and the following oils are part of my daily emotional support routine. Here are some of the ways our family uses them!

The Mood Management kit

This kit includes the following four unique blends developed by doTERRA, and here are some of the common ways we use them.

Balance

Balance grounding blend - my everyday friend | Bree Taylor Molyneaux

This foresty blend is deeply calming and helps me to be more present, in my body and mentally. I use this as part of my daily routine in a range of ways including:

Topically:

  • Upon waking, inhale a drop from my hands and then rub the rest on the back of the neck.
  • Mixed in with other oils as part of a daily aromatic dressing routine
  • Add Balance to lava bead bracelets and wear it all day; lovely paired with Bergamot, Wild Orange, Whisper or Clary Calm
  • Apply to the bottom of feet, wrists and forehead at the beginning of a yoga class for extra grounding and presence

 For parents:

  •  Mix  Balance + Wild Orange in a pre-made roller (3-5 drops of each) and apply to my wrists and beck of the neck as needed during the day.  Emotionally it also offers brilliant mood support (also known as the Tantrum Tamer). Try rolling it on the back of your kids neck when they are having a rough moment and watch it dissipate fast!

 Aromatically

  • Diffuse Wild Orange and Balance at the end of a work or school day to keep every in good spirits or diffuse outbursts
  • Add 2 drops to the bath to keep the kids chilled
  • Diffuse at bedtime with Lavender or Cedarwood for a calming relaxing aroma 

Lavender peace (aka Serenity) 

 This the blend that we use in our bedtime diffusers every night along with a few extra drops of Cedarwood or Vetiver (although many people use this as bedtime diffuser blend alone). This is also a soothing calming blend which is lovely for many uses.

Aromatically

Topically

  • Make up a roller of this blend for daytime use and soothing emotions
  • Massage (along with carrier oil) it into your family’s feet or back at the end of the day to assist sleep and relaxation
  • Mix with Balance (3-5 drops of each) in a roller with carrier oil for an emotionally calming blend to apply during the day

Citrus Bliss 

 This is an warm vanilla and citrus blend which is uplifting and playful.

Aromatically

  • Diffuse at anytime of day with 1 drop of peppermint for an uplifting energy boost 
  • Selling your house? diffuse this blend during open for inspections and help people feel more at home with these inviting tones. 

Topically

  • As a perfume! Make up a diluted roller and wear Citrus Bliss during your day. Apply to the wrists,heart and back of neck
  • Combine with Passion as a lovely perfume combo
  • Use in my daily aromatic dressing routine

Elevation

This is an uplifting blend which is more vibrant that citrus bliss.  Aromatically

  • Diffusing in the room to change the mood – add Sandalwood or Peppermint for a bit of extra lift and Zing
  • as a perfume diluted in a roller
  • and I most often blend this with Balance as part of my aromatic dressing routine.

Topically 

  • Dilute and put on your wrists as a perfume 
  • Use as part of a daily aromatic dressing
